A Self-Study (home study) course consists of a carefully chosen book (or articles) by leading thinkers in the field, supplemented by videos, exercises, or assessments that, explored together, provide an in-depth examination of subject matter of the course. You are able to complete the course on your own time and on your own schedule. Upon completion of reading the materials and, in some cases, completing the exercises and brief reflection essays, you will be ready to complete the post test.

Anxiety isn’t something that you can just “wish away.” Research demonstrates that the very things most people do to try to feel better—distracting oneself, avoiding fearful or stressful situations, pushing worry out of mind, talking oneself out of it – only make the problem worse. This self-study is based on the book, The Mindful Way through Anxiety, by Susan Orsillo, PhD and Lizabeth Roemer, PhD, who present a powerful new, evidence-based alternative that can help break the grip of anxiety by fundamentally changing how one relates to it. 16 CEs.
