This home study is based on the book, Flourish, by Martin Seligman and introduces the theory of well-being and research-based applications that lead to flourishing. The five pillars of well-being are presented: positive emotion, engagement, relationships, meaning, and accomplishment (PERMA).
This course is for people who aspire to understand, cultivate, and experience well-being and to flourish. This self-study qualifies for 12 CE credits. For example, upon successful completion, Social Workers will receive 12 Category “A” credits under the ACSW competence requirements. Upon completion of this self-study applicable to all social work categories, you will be able to:
- Explain the five elements of the well-being theory.
- Identify one’s signature strengths.
- Identify evidence-based activities to increase well-being.
- Explain practical applications of the PERMA theory.
